Pseudomonas aeruginosa outer membrane: peptidoglycan-associated proteins.
The Pseudomonas aeruginosa outer membrane was isolated with attached peptidoglycan and fractionated with Triton X-100, ethylenediaminetetraacetate, and lysozyme. The data suggest that major outer membrane proteins F, H2, and I are noncovalently associated with the peptidoglycan.

Background: Multidrug resistance Pseudomonas aeruginosa (MDRPA) is most important issue in healthcare setting. It can secrete many virulence effector proteins via its secretion system type (T1SS-T6SS). They are using them as conductor for delivering the effector proteins outside to begins harmful effect on host cell increasing pathogenicity, competition against other microorganism and nutrient ...
متن کاملMitogenic effects of purified outer membrane proteins from Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
Three major outer membrane proteins from Pseudomonas aeruginosa PAO1 were purified and tested for their ability to stimulate resting murine lymphocytes to proliferate. It was demonstrated that picomole amounts of all three proteins were mitogenic for both intact and T-lymphocyte-depleted populations of spleen cells from C3H/HeJ mice. In contrast, they had no activity against either mature or im...
متن کاملOuter membrane of Pseudomonas aeruginosa: heat- 2-mercaptoethanol-modifiable proteins.
A number of polyacrylamide gel systems and solubilization procedures were studied to define the number and nature of "major" polypeptide bands in the outer membrane of Pseudomonas aeruginosa. It was shown that five of the eight major outer membrane proteins were "heat modifiable" in that their mobility on sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis was determined by the solubiliza...
متن کاملOuter membrane proteins of Pseudomonas aeruginosa serotype strains.
The basis of differentiation of Pseudomonas aeruginosa into the 17 serotypes of the International Antigenic Typing Scheme is differences in an outer membrane glycolipid, lipopolysaccharide (LPS). This observation, together with the high toxicity and pyrogenicity of LPS, has led to the search for alternative "common" antigens for use as vaccines. The relation between the major outer membrane pro...
